Application Functions

 

APP_FUN

The Application Functions are used to manage the functions associated with the selected application. Each function is represented by its ID and name in a list and is sorted by ID. The administrator selects the function by clicking the radio button located to the left of the function ID and clicks the Next button.

 

The Select Action Application Function screen consists of two sections: Actions and Application Functions. The administrator is provided with a list of available Actions, and entries for each Function related to the selected application; in this case the Omnixx Console application (OC).

 

Actions

The Actions feature allows the administrator to select the action to apply to the application function.

 

Application Functions

The administrator selects a Function from the list to apply to a particular application by clicking the radio button located to the left of the function ID field.

 

APP_FUN_ADD

 

The administrator selects the Add new function option and the Add Application Function screen is displayed.

 

The administrator enters data into the following fields:

 

Identifier – The naming convention used for the identifier of an ACP must be alphanumeric and cannot contain any spaces.

 

Name – Enter the full name of the application configuration parameter.

 

Description – Any desired text information can be entered to describe the ACP.

 

If all the information is entered correctly, click the Next button. If the application function is successfully added to the database, the Add Function Confirmation message appears on the screen.

 

Click the OK button to add the new function to the database. The Select Action Application Function screen with the new application function is displayed for the Omnixx Console application.

 

APP_FUN_COPY

 

If the administrator selects the Add copy of selected function option, the Copy Application Function screen is displayed with the selected function for the application. This function is used to create a new application function, which is a copy of the selected function in the list of application functions. It begins with a copy of all data elements of the selected function except ID. The identifier name is the primary key and cannot be altered. A new name for the copied application function must be provided by the administrator allowing the modification of data elements with new values.

 

If all the information is entered correctly, click the Next button. If the application function is successfully added to the database, the Add Function Confirmation message appears on the screen.

 

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Application Function screen. Note the new application function is added to the Functions section.

 

APP_FUN_EDIT

 

If the administrator selects the Modify function option, select the application function to modify by clicking the radio button located to the left of the function ID field, then click the Next button to display the Modify Application Function screen. The administrator may modify the selected function; however, the Identifier field is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered. Identifiers are referred to as primary keys and are used as search criteria.

 

Make modifications to the following parameters (if any):

 

Name – Enter the full name of the application configuration parameter.

 

Description – Any desired text information can be entered to describe the ACP.

 

After successfully entering the changes to the application function, click the Next button to update the database. The administrator returns to the Select Action Application Function screen.

 

APP_FUN_DEL

 

If the administrator selects the Delete function option, select the application function to delete by clicking the radio button located to the left of the function ID field, then click the Next button to continue. Use the scroll bars located to the right of the screen to click the Next button if the Functions list is larger than the screen. The Delete Application Function Confirmation dialog box is displayed.

 

If the administrator decides not to delete the application function, clicking the Cancel button will display the Cancel Confirmation dialog box. Click the OK button and the administrator returns to the Select Action Application Function screen.

 

The administrator may confirm his or her intention to delete the selected application function by clicking the OK button to display the Delete Application Function message.

 

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Application Function screen. Note that the selected application function is deleted from the Functions section. If no further actions are required, the administrator may click Done, then the Next button to display the Application Function Complete message.

 

The administrator may click the OK button to return to the Applications Functions Main Menu screen.
