Modify Application

APP_PROP

The Modify Application function is used by the administrator to change information pertaining to an application already existing in the database. This function allows the administrator to modify application functions.

APP_ID

To modify an application, click the Modify application option from the Applications drop-down menu. A list of all applications previously added to the database is displayed in the Functionality area of the screen. Highlight the appropriate application by clicking it with your mouse, and then click the Next button to continue. (Refer to Section 9.1.1 – Select Application for the “select an application” process.) However, if an application was previously selected, the information for that particular application will be displayed in place of the list of available applications. Note: The identifier is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered. Identifiers are referred to as primary keys and are used as search criteria.

Make modifications to the following parameters (if any):

APP_ID

Identifier – The naming convention used for the identifier of an application must be alphanumeric and cannot contain any spaces.

Name – Enter the full name of the application.

Omnixx Browser Desktop Application – Check the box located to the left of this field to activate the browser to access the Omnixx applications.

Requires Known Device – Some message switches require that transactions be sent from only known devices. Known devices represent addresses of machines that will be validated at a switch by either an IP address or a terminal identifier. If the check box is selected, then either the IP address or terminal ID is sent to the switch for the switch to use in validating that the transactions are being sent from an appropriate device.

Miscellaneous – Any desired miscellaneous text information can be entered for the application.

APP_ACP

Click the Next button and the Select Action Application Configuration Parameter screen is displayed. This screen is used by the administrator to modify the application configuration parameters (ACPs) used by the application.

The Select Action Application Configuration Parameter screen consists of two sections: Actions and Parameters. The administrator is provided with a list of available Actions, and entries for each Parameter related to the selected application. The administrator may select only one option from each list.

Actions

The Actions feature allows the administrator to select the action to apply to the application. It also permits specific ACPs to be assigned to a particular application.

Parameters

The administrator selects a Parameter from the list to modify a particular application by clicking the radio button located to the left of the parameter ID field.

APP_ACP_ADD

The administrator selects the Add new parameter option and the Add ACP screen is displayed.

The administrator enters data into the following fields:

Identifier – The naming convention used for the identifier of an ACP must be alphanumeric and cannot contain any spaces.

Name – Enter the full name of the application configuration parameter.

Value – Enter the value of the application configuration parameter.

Description – Any desired text information can be entered to describe the ACP.

If all the information is entered correctly, click the Next button. If the application ACP is successfully added to the database, the Add Application Configuration Parameter Confirmation message appears on the screen.

Click the OK button to add the new ACP to the database. The Select Action Application Configuration Parameter screen with the new ACP is displayed for the Omnixx Console application.

APP_ACP_COPY

If the administrator selects the Add copy of selected parameter option, the Copy ACP screen is displayed with the selected ACP for the application. This function is used to create a new ACP, which is a copy of the selected ACP in the list of parameters. It begins with a copy of all data elements of the selected ACP except ID. The Identifier and a new name for the copied ACP must be provided by the administrator allowing the modification of data elements with new values.

If all the information is entered correctly, click the Next button. If the application ACP is successfully added to the database, the Add Application Configuration Parameter Confirmation message appears on the screen.

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Application Configuration Parameter screen. Note that the new ACPs added to the database are listed in the Parameters section.

APP_ACP_EDIT

If the administrator selects the Modify parameter option, select the ACP to modify by clicking the radio button located to the left of the parameter ID field, then click the Next button to continue to display the Modify ACP screen. The administrator may modify the parameters for the selected ACP; however, the Identifier field is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered. Identifiers are referred to as primary keys and are used as search criteria.

Make modifications to the following parameters (if any):

Name – Enter the full name of the application configuration parameter.

Value – Enter the value of the application configuration parameter.
