Test Templates

 

TR_TEST

The Test Templates function is used by the administrator to manage certification tests, and individual versions of test templates, associated with the selected certification. They are only available with the Omnixx Trainer extension.

 

TR_TEST_ID

 

To configure a test template for a certification test, click the Test templates option from the Trainer drop-down menu. A list of all certifications previously added to the database is displayed in the Functionality area of the screen. Highlight the appropriate certification by clicking it with your mouse, and then click the Next button to continue. (Refer to Section 12.1.1 – Select Certification for the “select a certification” process.) However, if a certification was previously selected, the information for that particular certification will be displayed in place of the list of available certifications. Note: The particular certification selected for this function is shown in the Certification field in the Omnixx Console Summary area.

 

The Select Action Certification Test screen consists of two sections: Actions and Test Versions. The administrator is provided with a list of available Actions, and entries for each Test Version related to the selected certification. The administrator may select only one option from each list.

 

Actions

The Actions feature allows the administrator to select the action to apply to the certification. It also permits test template versions to be assigned to a test for a particular certification.

 

Test Versions

The administrator selects a Test Version from the list to modify a particular test by clicking the radio button located to the left of the Test Version field.

 

TR_TEST_ADD

 

The administrator selects the Add new version of test option and the administrator enters data into the following fields:

 

Version – Enter the course version number. The number must be alphanumeric, unique, and not contain any spaces (e.g. 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, etc.).

 

Minimum Correct to Pass (0 Available) – The minimum number of test questions the student must get correct to pass the test. The administrator may also set this parameter to zero, meaning the student must get all answers correct to pass the test.

 

Maximum Running Time – The maximum number of minutes the student is allowed to complete the test.

 

Production – Check box allows this training course to be used as the production version. This ensures that all users get the same version of the training course unless otherwise specified by the system administrator.

 

Random Question Order – Check box allows the test questions to be chosen at random from the questions added to the test by the administrator. If not checked, the questions are presented in sequential order as added by the administrator.

 

Match Case for Answer – The answer to a question is case-sensitive; meaning that if the answer is an acronym in all capital letters, the answer must be entered in all capital letters.

 

If all the information is entered correctly, click the Next button. If the test version is successfully added to the database, the Test Version Confirmation message appears on the screen.

 

Click the OK button to add the new test version to the database. The Select Action Test Question screen is displayed.

 

TR_TEST_QUES

 

The Select Action Test Question screen consists of two sections: Actions and Questions. The administrator is provided with a list of available Actions, and entries for each Question related to the selected certification. The administrator may select only one option from each list.

 

Actions

The Actions feature allows the administrator to select the action to apply to the question. It also permits test questions to be assigned to a particular certification test.

 

Questions

The administrator selects a Question from the list to modify a particular certification test by clicking the radio button located to the left of the Number field.

 

TR_TEST_QUES_ADD

 

The administrator selects the Add new question to test option to display the Add Question to Test screen.

 

In this example, the Question field is shown in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered. The administrator selected the Random selection option when defining the test version parameters.

 

The administrator enters data into the following fields:

 

Select Question by Category – Check box allows the administrator to select a test question from the Question Pool by Category. If not checked, the Category field is shown in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered.

 

Category – This field contains a drop-down list that provides a list of the categories for questions in the Question Pool. To access this field, the Select Question by Category check box must be selected by the administrator.

 

Select Specific Question – Check box allows the administrator to select a test question from the Question Pool by the question Identifier. If not check, the Identifier field is shown in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered.

 

Identifier – This field contains a drop-down list that provides a list of the question IDs in the Question Pool. To access this field, the Select Specific Question check box must be selected by the administrator.

 

If all the information is entered correctly, click the Next button. If the new test question is successfully added to the database, the Add Question Confirmation message appears on the screen.

 

Click the OK button to add the new test question to the database. The Select Action Test Question screen with the new test question is displayed.

 

TR_TEST_QUES_COPY

 

If the administrator selects the Add copy of selected question to test option, the following screen is displayed with the selected test question for the certification test. This function is used to create a new test question, which is a copy of the selected test question in the list of questions. It begins with a copy of all question data elements of the selected question except ID. The Identifier and a new name for the test question must be provided by the administrator allowing the modification of data elements with new values.

 

If all the information is entered correctly, click the Next button. If the test question is successfully added to the database, the Add Question Confirmation message appears on the screen.

 

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Test Question screen. Note the new test questions added to the database are listed in the Questions section.

 

TR_TEST_QUES_EDIT

 

If the administrator selects the Modify question option, select the test question to modify by clicking the radio button located to the left of the Number field, then click the Next button to display the Modify Test Question screen is displayed. The administrator may modify the question parameters for the selected test question; however, the Question field is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered.

 

Make necessary modifications to the following fields (if any):

 

Select Question by Category – Check box allows the administrator to select a test question from the Question Pool by Category. If not checked, the Category field is shown in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered.

TR_POOL_SHOW

 

If the administrator selects the Show question option, select the question to display by clicking the radio button located to the left of the Number field, then click the Next button to display the Show Question Interactive screen.

 

To exit this screen, click Done to return to the Select Action Test Question screen.

 

TR_TEST_QUES_DEL

 

If the administrator selects the Delete question from test option, select the question to delete by clicking the radio button located to the left of the Number field, then click the Next button to display the Delete Test Question Confirmation dialog box.

 

If the administrator decides not to delete the test question, clicking the Cancel button will display the Cancel Confirmation dialog box. Click the OK button and the administrator returns to the Select Action Test Question screen.

 

The administrator may confirm his or her intention to delete the selected question from the question pool by clicking the OK button. The Delete Question message is displayed.

 

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Test Question screen. Note the selected test question is deleted from the Questions section.

 

If no further actions are required, the administrator may click Done, then the Next button to return to the Select Action Certification Test screen.

 

TR_TEST_COPY

 

If the administrator selects the Add copy of selected version of test option, the following screen is displayed with the selected version for the certification test. This function is used to create a new version, which is a copy of the selected version in the list of test versions. It begins with a copy of all data elements of the selected version except ID. A new version Identifier must be provided by the administrator allowing the modification of data elements with new values.

 

If all the information is entered correctly, click the Next button. If the test version is successfully added to the database, the Add Test Version Confirmation message appears on the screen.

 

Click the OK button to add the new test version to the database. The Select Action Test Question screen is displayed. The Select Action Test Question screen consists of two sections: Actions and Questions. TR_TEST_QUES_COPY

TR_TEST_QUES_EDIT

The administrator may modify the question parameters for the selected test question; however, the Question field is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered.

 

Make necessary modifications to the following fields (if any):

 

Select Question by Category – Check box allows the administrator to select a test question from the Question Pool by Category. If not checked, the Category field is shown in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered.

TR_POOL_SHOW

 

If the administrator selects the Show question option, select the question to display by clicking the radio button located to the left of the Number field, then click the Next button to display the Show Question Interactive screen.

 

To exit this screen, click Done to return to the Select Action Test Question screen.

 

TR_TEST_QUES_DEL

 

If the administrator selects the Delete question from test option, select the question to delete by clicking the radio button located to the left of the Number field, then click the Next button to display the Delete Test Question Confirmation dialog box.

 

If the administrator decides not to delete the test question, clicking the Cancel button will display the Cancel Confirmation dialog box. Click the OK button and the administrator returns to the Select Action Test Question screen.

TR_TEST_EDIT

 

If the administrator selects the Modify version of test option, select the test version to modify by clicking the radio button located to the left of the Version field, then click the Next button to display the Modify Test Version screen is displayed. The administrator may modify the fields for the selected test version; however, the Version field is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered.

 

Make modifications to the following fields (if any):

TR_POOL_SHOW

 

If the administrator selects the Show question option, select the question to display by clicking the radio button located to the left of the Number field, then click the Next button to display the Show Question Interactive screen.

 

To exit this screen, click Done to return to the Select Action Test Question screen.

 

TR_TEST_QUES_DEL

 

If the administrator selects the Delete question from test option, select the question to delete by clicking the radio button located to the left of the Number field, then click the Next button to display the Delete Test Question Confirmation dialog box.

 

If the administrator decides not to delete the test question, clicking the Cancel button will display the Cancel Confirmation dialog box. Click the OK button and the administrator returns to the Select Action Test Question screen.

 

The administrator may confirm his or her intention to delete the selected question from the question pool by clicking the OK button. For example, the test questions are in the production version of the certification test and cannot be deleted. The Production Version Test Question Not Deleted message is displayed. Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Test Question screen.

 

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Test Question screen. Note the selected test question is deleted from the Questions section.

 

If no further actions are required, the administrator may click the Done, then the Next button to return to the Select Action Certification Test screen.

 

TR_TEST_SHOW

 

If the administrator selects the Show version of test option, the Show Test Trainer Certification screen is displayed. This function allows the administrator to view the version of the Certification Test as it will appear to the student.

 

To exit this screen, click Done to return to the Select Action Certification Test screen.

 

TR_TEST_DEL

 

If the administrator selects the Delete version of test option, highlight the test version to delete by clicking the radio button located to the left of the version ID field, then click the Next button to display the Delete Certification Test Version Confirmation dialog box. Note: The production version of the Certification test cannot be deleted from the database.

 

If the administrator decides not to delete the test version, clicking the Cancel button will display the Cancel Confirmation dialog box. Click the OK button and the administrator returns to the Select Action Certification Test screen.

 

TR_TEST_DEL1

 

The administrator may confirm his or her intention to delete the selected test version from the Certification Test by clicking the OK button. The Delete Test Version message is displayed.

 

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Certification Test screen. Note the selected test version is deleted from the Test Versions section.

 

TR_TEST_ANLZ

 

If the administrator selects the Analyze test option, highlight the test version to analyze by clicking the radio button located to the left of the version ID field, then click the Next button to continue. This function checks for logic errors in the Certification Test. Once the test is checked for design flaws and verified to be correct, the No Errors In Test message is displayed.

 

The administrator clicks the OK button to return to the Select Action Certification Test screen. If no further actions are required, the administrator may click the Done, then the Next button to display the Certification Test Complete message.
