HSW_PROP

The Modify Host Switch function is used by the administrator to change information pertaining to a host switch already existing in the database. This function allows the administrator to modify host switch parameters.

To modify a host switch, click the Modify host switch option from the Host Switches drop-down menu. A list of all host switches previously added to the database is displayed in the Functionality area of the screen. Highlight the appropriate host switch by clicking it with your mouse, and then click the Next button to continue. (Refer to Section 10.1.1 – Select Host Switch for the “select a host switch” process.) However, if a host switch was previously selected, the information for that particular host switch will be displayed in place of the list of available host switches. Note: The identifier is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered. Identifiers are referred to as primary keys and are used as search criteria.

Make modifications to the following parameters (if any):

Name – Enter the full name of the host switch.

Address – IP address used to associate service requests with a specific host switch.

Status – The host switch may be active or disabled.

Miscellaneous – Any desired miscellaneous text information can be entered for the host switch.

Click the Next button and the Host Switch Properties message is displayed confirming the modifications to the host switch. Click the OK button to continue.

After successfully modifying the host switch, the administrator returns to the Omnixx Console Host Switches Functions screen.
