Modify Certification

 

CER_PROP

The Modify Certification function is used by the administrator to change information pertaining to a certification already existing in the database. This function allows the administrator to modify certification application functions.

 

CER_ID

 

To modify a user, click the Modify certification option from the Trainer drop-down menu. A list of all certifications previously added to the database is displayed in the Functionality area of the screen. Highlight the appropriate certification by clicking it with your mouse, and then click the Next button to continue. (Refer to Section 12.1.1 – Select Certification for the “select a certification” process.) However, if a certification was previously selected, the information for that particular certification will be displayed in place of the list of available certifications. Note: The identifier is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered. Identifiers are referred to as primary keys and are used as search criteria.

 

Make modifications to the following parameters (if any):

 

Name – Enter the full name of the certification.

 

Status – The certification may be active or disabled.

 

Default Active Duration – Click the check box located to the left of the Days field to enter the number of days an active certification is valid. By not clicking the check box, the certification active duration defaults to non-expire.

 

Default Probation Duration – Click the check box located to the left of the Days field to enter the number of days a probationary certification is valid. By not clicking the check box, the certification probation duration defaults to non-expire.

 

No Retest Period – Enter the number of days no retesting for the certification is allowed.

 

Retest Period – Enter the number of days allowed for retesting for the certification.

 

Form Application – Identifier of application whose forms are used for course exercises and test questions.

 

Miscellaneous – Any desired miscellaneous text information can be entered for the certification.

 

Click the Next button and the Select Action Certification Transaction screen is displayed. This screen allows the system administrator to modify the forms and functions used by the selected application.

 

CER_SEL

 

The Select Action Certification Transaction screen consists of two sections: Actions and Applications. The administrator is provided with a list of available Actions, and entries for each Application related to the selected certification. The administrator may only select one option from each list.

 

Actions

The Actions feature allows the administrator to select or deselect the forms and functions used by a specified application.

 

Applications

The administrator selects the Application to apply the forms and functions to for a particular certification by clicking the radio button located to the left of the application ID field.

 

CER_TRANS_FRM_SEL

 

The Select authorized forms option is selected by the administrator and the Omnixx Force Browser is the application of choice governed by the authorized forms selected for the certification. By clicking the Next button, the Select Authorized Forms screen is displayed.

 

The administrator may select from the list those forms to apply to the certification by clicking the check boxes located to the left of the form ID. The administrator may select as many of these forms as might apply to the certification for the selected application. This list will usually contain multiple forms and a scroll bar is provided for the administrator to view all the forms available for selection. Once the forms are selected, click the Next button and the administrator is returned to the Select Action Certification Transaction screen.

 

CER_TRANS_FRM_DESEL

 

If the administrator selects the Deselect authorized forms option, the Deselect Authorized Forms screen is displayed with the list of authorized forms for the application.

 

The administrator may deselect any form by clicking the check box located to the left of the form ID field. The check box should appear empty to ensure the deselecting process will be successful. Click the Next button to continue.

 

Click the Next button to save the selected forms into the database. Once the authorized forms are entered into the database, the administrator is returned to the Select Action Certification Transaction screen.

 

CER_TRANS_FUN_SEL

 

The Select authorized functions option is selected by the administrator and the Omnixx Force Browser is the application of choice governed by the authorized functions selected for the certification. By clicking the Next button, the Select Authorized Functions screen is displayed.

 

The administrator may select from this list the functions to apply to the certification by clicking the check boxes located to the left of the function ID. The administrator may select as many of the functions that apply to the certification for the selected application. This list will usually contain multiple functions, and a scroll bar is provided for the administrator to view all the functions available for selection. Once the functions are selected, click the Next button and the administrator returns to the Select Action Certification Transaction screen.

 

CER_TRANS_FUN_DESEL

 

If the administrator selects the Deselect authorized functions option, the following screen is displayed with the list of authorized functions for the application.

 

The administrator may deselect any function by clicking the check box located to the left of the function ID field. The check box should appear empty to ensure the deselecting process will be successful. Click the Next button to continue.

 

Click the Next button to save the selected functions into the database and return to the Select Trainer Certification Transaction screen. If no further actions are required, the administrator may click Done, then the Next button to continue.

 

Once the authorized functions are entered into the database, the Select Action Objectives screen is displayed. These functions are used by the administrator to manage and configure the objectives associated with training and testing for each certification.

 

The Select Action Objectives screen consists of two sections: Actions and Objectives. The administrator is provided with a list of available Actions, and entries for each Objective related to the selected certification. The administrator may select only one option from each list.

 

Actions

The Actions feature allows the administrator to select the action to apply to the certification. It also permits objectives to be assigned to a particular certification.

 

Objectives

The administrator selects an Objective from the list to modify a particular certification by clicking the radio button located to the left of the objective ID field.

 

TR_OBJ_ADD

 

The administrator selects the Add new objective option and the Add Objective screen is displayed.

 

The administrator enters data for the new objective in the following fields:

 

Identifier – The naming convention for the objective must be numeric, unique, and cannot contain any spaces. Dashes, hyphens and periods between characters are acceptable.

 

Name – Enter the full name of the objective.

 

Priority – The objective may have a priority of 1-5, with 1 being the highest priority level. Five (5) objectives are allowed for a certification and only one priority level each for an objective.

 

Miscellaneous – Any desired miscellaneous text information can be entered for the objective.

 

If all the information is entered correctly, click the Next button. If the objective is successfully added to the database, the Add Objective Confirmation message appears on the screen.

 

Click the OK button to add the new objective to the database. The Select Action Objectives screen with the new objective is displayed for the Omnixx Console interface.

 

TR_OBJ_COPY

 

If the administrator selects the Add copy of selected objective option, the Copy Objective screen is displayed with the selected objective for the certification. This function is used to create a new objective, which is a copy of the selected objective in the list. It begins with a copy of all data elements of the selected objective. A new name for the copied objective must be provided by the administrator allowing modification of data elements with new values.

 

If all the information is entered correctly, click the Next button. If the certification objective is successfully added to the database, the Add Objective Confirmation message appears on the screen.

 

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Objectives screen. Note the new objective is added to the Objectives section.

 

TR_OBJ_EDIT

 

If the administrator selects the Modify objective option, highlight the objective to modify by clicking the radio button located to the left of the objective ID field, then click the Next button to display the Modify Objective screen. The administrator may modify the selected objective; however, the Identifier field is displayed in grayed text (grayed-out”) and cannot be altered. Identifiers are referred to as primary keys and are used as search criteria.

Priority – The objective may have a priority of 1-5, with 1 being the highest priority level. Five (5) objectives are allowed for a certification and only one priority level each for an objective.

 

Miscellaneous – Any desired miscellaneous text information can be entered for the objective.

 

After successfully entering the changes to the objective, click the Next button to update the database. The administrator is returned to the Select Action Objectives screen.

 

TR_OBJ_DEL

 

If the administrator selects the Delete objective option, highlight the objective to delete by clicking the radio button to the left of the objective ID field, then click the Next button to display the Delete Objective Confirmation dialog box.

 

If the administrator decides not to delete the objective, clicking the Cancel button will display the Cancel Confirmation dialog box. Click the OK button and the administrator returns to Select Action Objectives screen.

 

The administrator may confirm his or her intention to delete the selected objective by clicking the OK button. The Delete Objective message is displayed.

 

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Objectives screen. Note that the selected objective is deleted from the Objectives screen.

 

If no further actions are required, the administrator may click Done, then the Next button to display the Certification Properties Complete message.

 

The administrator may click the OK button to return to the Omnixx Console Trainer screen.
