Form

 

TR_FORM

The functions specified in this section are used to manage form (FORM) questions. Answers associated with FORM questions consist of interactive forms that are offered to the student for completion.

 

The administrator is presented with the Select Action Question Pool screen. Note the previously added Fill-in-the-Blank (BLANK) question, Multiple Choice (CHOICE) question, and the True False (TF) question appear in the Questions box.

 

TR_POOL_ADD

 

The administrator selects the Add new question to pool option and clicks the Next button to display the Add Question screen.

 

The administrator enters data for the new question in the following fields:

 

Identifier – It must be numeric, unique, and cannot contain any spaces.

 

Status – The question may be active or disabled.

 

Category – Enter the full name of the category.

 

Type of Question – The question may be Blank (fill-in-the-blank), Form (fill out an online form), Choice (multiple-choice), or TF (true or false).

 

Can Be Used In Exercises – Check box allows the question to be used in Exercises.

 

Can Be Used In Tests – Check box allows the question to be used in Tests.

 

Question Text – The actual question text as it appears in the Question Pool.

 

If all the information is added correctly, click the Next button. If the question is successfully added to the database, the Add Question Confirmation message appears on the screen.

 

Click the OK button to add the new question to the database. The Form Select screen is displayed on the Omnixx Console interface. The Form Select screen consists of two sections: Type of Form and Form ID. The sections are listed and described below.

 

Type of Form

The Type of Form provides the administrator with two Form options: Response (RFM) and Transaction (TFM).

 

Form ID

The Form Identifier consists of all the selected types of forms associated with a specified certification. These forms are assigned in the Add new certification and Modify certification functions.

 

The Form ID field provides a drop-down list of all the forms assigned to the certification. The administrator selects a form from the list by highlighting the item with the mouse.

 

The administrator clicks the Next button and the Select Action Form Question screen is displayed for the Omnixx Console interface.

 

The Select Action Form Question screen consists of three sections: Question Text, Actions, and Correct Answers. The administrator is provided with a list of available Actions, and a Correct Answer box for entering the correct answer to the question text. The administrator may select only one option from the Action list. Note: The Question Text dialog box is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered.

 

Question Text

The Question Text is the actual text of the question previously entered by the administrator. The question may be one of the following types: Blank (fill-in-the-blank), Choice (multiple-choice), TF (true or false), or Form (fill out an on-line query).

 

Actions

The Actions feature allows the administrator to select the action to apply to the question. It also permits answers to be assigned to a question for a particular certification.

 

Correct Answers

The administrator enters the Correct Answer to the question shown in the Question Text dialog box.

 

TR_POOL_LEAD

 

The administrator selects the Modify lead-in text option and the Edit Lead screen is displayed. This option is used to edit the lead-in text associated with the selected question.

 

The administrator is provided with the following edit buttons: New, Copy, Save, Down, Up, Delete, Show, Help, and Done. These buttons are listed and described in the subsection below. The administrator must first select the Text Outline to edit, then select from the buttons listed at the top of the Edit Lead screen.

 

New

The New button provides the administrator with five options. The lead-in text for the question may be in paragraph form, a list, an image, objectives of the question, or a column.

 

If the Paragraph option is selected, the administrator enters the lead-in text for the selected question in the question pool.

 

Selecting the List option provides the administrator with an edit screen for listing elements in the lead-in question text.

 

The Image option enables the administrator to include a picture or image in the lead-in question text. The administrator enters the URL in the box provided to include the image.

 

The administrator selects the Objectives option and the administrator enters the objectives for the selected question in the question pool.

 

The Column option enables the administrator to enter lead-in question text in the form of a column.

 

Copy

The Copy button provides an exact copy of the selected Lead text item. For example, if the Paragraph option is selected by the administrator, the Paragraph text can be modified to display two lead-in paragraphs.

 

Save

The Save button commits the Properties (data) entered by the administrator into the database.

 

Down

The Down button moves the Lead text types down one place.

 

Up

The Up button moves the Lead text moves up one place.

 

Delete

The Delete button allows the administrator to delete an item from the Lead text menu.

 

Show

The Show button displays the question lead-in text as it appears before the question.

 

Help

The Help button provides a Help window for the edit button selected by the administrator.

 

Done

The Done button exits the administrator out of the Edit Lead screen and returns to the Select Action Form Question screen. If the data has not been previously saved using the Save button, the administrator is prompted with the Save Changes dialog box to save changes before exiting the Edit Lead screen.

 

The administrator clicks Yes to save changes to the database and returns to the Select Action Form Question screen.

 

TR_POOL_TEXT

 

If the administrator selects the Modify question text option, the Edit Question Text screen is displayed with the text of the selected question.

 

Make necessary changes to the question text (if any). If the changes are successfully entered, click the Next button to display the Select Action Form Question screen. Note that the recently edited question text is displayed in the Question Text box.

 

TR_FORM_ADD

 

If the administrator selects the Add new answer option, the Add Form Answer screen is displayed. The administrator enters the answer to the question shown in the Question Text box.

 

The Add Form Answer screen consists of the two sections: Question Text and Correct Answer. Note that the Question Text is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered.

 

Question Text

The Question Text is the actual text of the question previously entered by the administrator. The question may be one of the following types: Blank (fill-in-the-blank), Choice (multiple-choice), TF (true or false), or Form (fill out an on-line query).

 

Correct Answer

The Correct Answer sections includes the following fields: Field, Match and Value. The options are described in the subsection below.

 

Field – This is the actual fields on the query form in Omnixx Force Browser. The field names represent items related to the form ID.

 

Match – The administrator determines if the field will be Any answer or the Exact answer to be correct by selecting from the drop-down list.

 

Value – If the administrator selects the Exact option in the Match field, the answer provided by the student must exactly match the value input by the administrator.

 

Once the answers to the Form fields are entered in the Correct Answer section, click the Next button to return to the Select Action Form Question screen. Note that the correct answer to the question text is displayed in the Correct Answer box as a character string.

 

TR_FORM_COPY

 

If the administrator selects the Add copy of selected answer option, the Copy Form Answer screen is displayed. This function is used to create a new correct answer to a Form question, which is a copy of the selected answers in the list. It begins with a copy of all data elements of the selected question and answers except Question Text. The question text is the primary key and cannot be altered. A new answer for the question text must be provided by the administrator allowing modification of data elements with new values. This function allows the student a means of entering more than one correct answer to a question. If the information is entered correctly, click the Next button to return to the Select Form Question screen.

 

TR_FORM_EDIT

 

If the administrator selects the Modify answer option, select the correct answer to modify by highlighting the answer with the mouse, then click the Next button to display the Modify Form Answer screen. The administrator may modify the selected answer by selecting Any or Exact from the drop-down list in the Match field; however, the Field box is displayed in grayed text (“grayed-out”) and cannot be altered.

 

Make necessary changes to the Match field and/or Value field (if any). If the information is entered correctly, click the Next button and the administrator returns to the Select Action Form Question screen. Note that the modified correct value and match parameter is reflected in the Correct Answers box as a character string.

 

TR_FORM_DEL

 

If the administrator selects the Delete answer option, select the answer to delete by highlighting the answer with the mouse, then click the Next button to display the Delete Form Answer Confirmation dialog box.

 

If the administrator decides not to delete the answer, clicking the Cancel button will display the Cancel Confirmation dialog box. Click the OK button and the administrator returns to the Select Action Form Question screen.

 

The administrator may confirm his or her intention to delete the selected answer by clicking the OK button. The Delete Form Answer message is displayed.

 

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Form Question screen. Note that the selected answer is deleted from the Correct Answers box.

 

TR_FORM_SEL

 

If the administrator selects the Select form option, the Form Select screen is displayed. The Type of Form and Form ID may be modified by selecting a form options from the drop-down lists. Click the Next button to return to the Select Action Form Question screen.

 

If the administrator selects the Show option, the Show Form Question Interactive screen is displayed. This function allows the administrator to view the question as it will appear in the training exercise or test.

 

To exit this screen, click Done to return to the Select Action Form Question screen. If no further actions are required, the administrator may click Done, then the Next button to return to the Select Action Question Pool screen.

 

TR_POOL_COPY

 

If the administrator selects the Add copy of selected question to pool option, select the question to copy by clicking the radio button located to the left of the questions ID field, then click the Next button to display the Copy Question screen. The administrator may modify the selected question; however, a new identifier must be entered into the Identifier field for the new question.

 

The administrator enters data for the new question in the following fields:

 

Identifier – It must be numeric, unique, and cannot contain any spaces.

 

Status – The question may be active or disabled.

 

Category – Enter the full name of the category.

 

Type of Question – The question may be Blank (fill-in-the-blank), Form (fill out an on-line form), Choice (multiple-choice), or TF (true or false).

 

If the administrator changes the question type, the Change Question Type Confirmation message is displayed.

 

Can Be Used In Exercises – Check box allows the question to be used in Exercises.

 

Can Be Used In Tests – Check box allows the question to be used in Tests.

TR_POOL_SHOW

 

If the administrator selects the Show question option, the Show Form Question Interactive screen is displayed.

 

To exit this screen, click Done to return to the Select Action Question Pool screen.

 

TR_POOL_DEL

 

If the administrator selects the Delete question from pool option, select the question to delete by clicking the radio button located to the left of the question ID field, then click the Next button to display the Delete Question Confirmation dialog box.

 

If the administrator decides not to delete the question, clicking the Cancel button will display the Cancel Confirmation dialog box. Click the OK button and the administrator returns to the Select Action Question Pool screen.

 

The administrator may confirm his or her intention to delete the selected question from the question pool by clicking the OK button. The Delete Question message is displayed.

 

Click the OK button to return to the Select Action Question Pool screen. Note the selected question is deleted from the Questions field.

 

TR_CAT_XREF

 

If the administrator selects the Display cross-reference option, select the question to cross-reference by clicking the radio button located to the left of the question ID field, then click the Next button to continue. The Display Cross-Reference Question screen is displayed.

 

If the question is not cross-referenced, the Question Not Cross-Referenced message is displayed.

 

If no further actions are required, the administrator may click Done, then the Next button to display the Question Pool Complete message.

 

The administrator may click the OK button to return to the Omnixx Console Trainer Functions screen.
