Delete Host Switch Interfaces

To delete a host switch interface, click the Delete interface option from the Host Switch Interfaces drop-down menu. A list of all host switch interfaces previously added to the database is displayed in the Functionality area of the screen. However, if a host switch interface was previously selected, the information for that particular host switch interface will be displayed in the Interface field.
This function allows the administrator to delete an existing host switch interface from the database. This process is considered a critical delete and must have two confirmations prior to the deletion of any data. This procedure ensures that no valuable information is deleted unintentionally. If the administrator’s intention to delete the host switch interface is confirmed both times, the selected host switch interface and all related information will be deleted. The information deleted is not recoverable.
To complete the first step in the deletion process, the administrator types the word DELETE just as it appears in the Enter Confirmation field. Click the Next button to continue.
If the administrator decides not to delete the host switch interface during the first step in the deletion process, clicking the Cancel button will display the Cancel Confirmation dialog box. Click the OK button and the administrator returns to the Omnixx Console Main Menu screen. Note: The host switch interface identifier is still entered in the Interface field.
The second step is another response to a confirmation box. In this box, the word DeLeTe must be typed into the Enter Confirmation field exactly as shown, with every other letter capitalized. Click the Next button to continue.
If the administrator decides not to delete the host switch interface during the second step in the deletion process, clicking the Cancel button will display the Cancel Confirmation dialog box. Click the OK button and the administrator returns to the Omnixx Console Main Menu screen. Note: The host switch interface identifier is still entered in the Interface field.
If the deletion is successful, the Delete Client-Switch Interface Confirmation message is displayed. Click the OK button to continue. Note: The host switch interface identifier is deleted from the Interface field in the Omnixx Console Summary area.
By clicking the OK button, the Delete Host Switch Interface Complete message is displayed.
After successfully deleting a host switch interface from the database, the administrator clicks the OK button once again and returns to the Omnixx Console Host Switch Interfaces Functions screen.
